Becoming Proverbs 31

Hey ladies! Today has been such a peaceful day and I wanted to just spend it with God. I wanted to hear from Him and see if there was anything that I needed to do to move forward in the endeavors He’s called me to. As I was seeking Him, He began putting a word in my heart around the Proverbs 31 woman. I hesitate sometimes to write about this subject because there’s been so much written already, but we’ve gotta be obedient, right? Right. Anyway, in speaking of this famous woman, I truly believe there is a Proverbs 31 woman in every woman. But I find that some women either don’t know it, don’t believe it or simply don’t believe that she’s attainable. Let me tell you something, she is there and she’s inside of you. What you must understand is that she is unattainable if you’re trying to become her in your own strength. The Proverbs 31 woman is developed supernaturally by the power, love and grace of God. He’s the one who builds, restores, encourages, strengthens, develops, uproots and plants all that is necessary to bring you into the woman that He created you to be. It’s His duty and pleasure to beautify and dress you from the inside out. Check this out:

“‘I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you. I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments. I adorned you with jewelry. I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck, and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen. And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign Lord.

God made Israel beautiful and He made the Proverbs 31 woman beautiful as well. That’s why there’s so much written about them both. Their fame spread and we’ve been talking about them ever since. We can’t do this by ourselves or for ourselves though; at best we can make ourselves look appealing, but real beauty is produced from the inner works of the Lord. First, He will clean you up and make you whole by tearing down any false identity you’ve obtained from the world. He will show you who you really are in Christ and why He planted you on this earth. Then He will fill you up with the fruit of His spirit (Gal 5:22-23). The fruit of His spirit will shine from the inside out and the world will see your beauty - your true beauty. That’s what God wants to do for all of us. He wants to beautify you and show you to the world! He wants to strengthen you so never again will you fall for the lies of this world. He loves you so much and I truly believe He provided us with the characteristics of the Proverbs 31 woman to give us a glimpse into who He’s created us to be. And the best thing about it is we don’t have to strive for it. We just have to give Him free reign to turn us into a beautiful garden.

You have to believe He can do this for you and that He wants to. Then you have to allow Him the chance to show Himself mighty to you in this way. If you truly desire for God to do this for you, repeat this confession daily:

Lord, I thank you for desiring to beautify me and make me whole. I come to you now to surrender my life to you. Lord, make me holy in every way, that my whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me. Let me lack nothing of value and teach me to speak with wisdom and faithful instruction. Clothe me with strength and dignity and allow me to laugh at the days to come. Teach me, Lord, how to consider a field and buy it. Help me to watch over my affairs and not eat the bread of idleness. Let counsel and sound judgement be mine, as well as understanding and power. Let long life be in my right hand and riches and honor in my left. May my ways be pleasant ways and all my paths be full of peace. I am a tree of life to those who embrace me, those who lay hold of me are blessed. I am filled with wisdom from the Lord and my guidance comes from Him. Lord, I ask that you continue making me whole and building me up for every good work. I thank you, Father, for all that you’ve done, all that you’re doing and all that you are continuing to do in my life. I believe, by faith, that all of this is done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I thank God for you. I pray that you have a wonderful week and that you own this week. Let your light shine and let the fire to succeed in whatever you do burn with greatness.

Take care and I will talk to you again soon.
